Abstract

The Act addresses the physical abuse of children and defines "serious injury". The Act imposes more stringent penalties for willful acts or omissions that result in a finding of deprivation. The penalties include a felony charge when one causes serious injury to a child through such an act or omission, and lesser charges for first and subsequent offenses that do not result in serious injury. The Act also raises the age of admission to establishments that exhibit sexual conduct and nudity from eighteen to twenty-one years of age.
