Abstract

The Act amends several aspects of Georgia domestic relations law. First, the Act provides that in any action involving the custody of a child between a parent and a third party, the court will consider the best interests of the child. Second, the Act provides that the court may, upon petition, look to the child's best interest in determining custody upon the death of either parent. Finally, the Act revises the procedures relating to the periodic review and adjustment of administrative and judicial child support orders.
