Abstract

The Act increases penalties for drivers operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license or a suspended or revoked license. The Act imposes a misdemeanor for the first offense, required fingerprinting, and at least two days in jail if stopped driving without a license or with a suspended or revoked license. Violators can avoid conviction by presenting a valid Georgia Driver's License. The second or third offense within five years of the date of the law offense requires at least ten days of imprisonment and a fine of not less than $1000. The fourth offense in five years will be a felony.
