The Fiscal Research Center (FRC) is a nonpartisan academic think tank that leverages the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies’ public finance expertise to assist Georgia’s state policymakers on questions of tax and economic policy. The FRC’s technical assistance responsibilities include supporting the Georgia state fiscal economist, developing estimates for tax-related fiscal notes, writing the Georgia State Tax Expenditure Report, and conducting research on a variety of topics associated with Georgia state and local fiscal policy issues. The work of the FRC also includes collaborating with faculty, developing graduate student capacity, and maintaining the data resources and technical capacity to make the center an area of excellence in state and local tax and economic policy.
