Abstract
This thesis presents the results of the digitization and spatial analyses of artifacts from the Gallo-Roman Temple Complex of Wareswald (Saarland, Germany). Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geospatial analyses, I explore spatial patterns of ritual activity, as well as broader regional connectivity at the frontiers of Roman occupation throughout Gallia Belgica and the rest of the Roman world. By integrating archaeological data with digital methodologies, this research investigates how spatial analysis techniques can identify, group, and analyze spatial data of ritual deposits to further understanding of religious, economic, and cultural dynamics in a peripheral Roman province. The findings and discussion contribute to ongoing discussions on Romanization, identity in the provincial Roman world, religious practice, and the application of digital tools in archaeological analysis.
