Abstract
Many studies have investigated the effects of housing inequality on depressive symptoms; however, the effects of frequent residential mobility are generally understudied. Using data from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health, I investigate whether moving more frequently in adolescence and early adulthood is found to increase experiences of depression in adulthood. I also explore how these effects are altered by distance, adverse childhood experiences, and social support. Findings suggest that the association between mobility and adult depression is largely explained by other psychosocial and developmental factors, such as Adverse Childhood Experiences, SES, and social support networks.
