Abstract
This article aims to review evidence of findings related to neurotoxicants as a public health concern by presenting an in-depth examination of findings related to the presence of toxic elements in infant products, the impact of neurotoxicants on brain development, social behavior deficits impacting overall mental health, and a profile of populations affected by health disparities. Additionally, we will discuss opportunities for groundbreaking discoveries in the emerging fields of psychoneuroendocrinology, psychoneuroimmunology, and neuroimaging while encouraging policy action.
