Abstract

social connectedness (MSC) factor reflecting the domains of relationship structure, function, and affective quality, (2) demonstrate this MSC factor as promotive of well-being, regardless of stress, and in the context of stress, (3) provide support for the superiority of MSC in predicting well-being outcomes over any of its individual components, (4) demonstrate that the inclusion of mindfulness in the model as a predictor of MSC improved model fit, (5) replicate the association between mindfulness and social connectedness with the MSC factor (Kingery et al., 2020; Klanin-Yobas et al., 2016; Mettler et al., 2019; Rehman et al., 2021), (6) confirm the relationship of mindfulness and well-being in part through MSC, and (7) provide support for MSC as a protective (moderating) factor of the negative impacts of stressful life events on physical, but not psychological, well-being.
