Abstract

This session will discuss the creation of a standalone workshop and a course instruction session on introducing basic copyright and fair use concepts to undergraduate students. Two Perimeter librarians saw an increase in assignments that incorporated multimedia projects and digital literacy skills. As a result, they developed a workshop to help students understand that pictures, music, and videos on the internet are not free for the taking, and issues to consider when using multimedia in their online portfolios and websites.
