Abstract
The aim of the project was to educate nurses on how to link override medications to orders to reduce administration errors. Hands-on training and step-by-step instructions were utilized to improve nursing awareness. No significant difference existed between pre-intervention and post-intervention rates of reconciled overrides. Future projects should combine education with nursing protocol and electronic interventions to promote safety during medication overrides.
